Minecraft - One Life's Play
It happened to me a little while ago. I had updated Minecraft to 1.3.1. I wanted to test the world generator, and try to find one of those pyramids or jungle temples, while doing a Hardcore Minecraft. I typed random letters I don't even remember in the seed, and then I called the world "Lively Hardcore"(I always give weird names to my worlds). I enabled cheats, because I wanted to get if the Adventure mecanics allowed to break certain insta-break blocks.
I've spawned in a jungle. Good thing, I'll be able to see if there's a temple around there. But that's where things start.
As in every Minecraft game, I started punching a tree, but at every punch the screen showed, I heard the "UUH" sound that plays everytime you get damaged. What? The tree block didn't want to break. Weird, I didn't put the command for Adventure Mode... I didn't give up, but then the right hand lowered and I heard a "crack" sound, the same as when you fall from a bigger height than 3 blocks, and I lost 4 whole hearts. I felt my own hand hurting. I looked at it, but it was perfectly fine. What the heck!?
I couldn't make any tools, so I started searching for a village nearby or a jungle temple. Just so I can steal some materials from the Blacksmith chest or get some base loot to start. Found a village fast enough, It was just a simple Jungle Village. I looked in, found a Blacksmith house. I looked in the chest, and I found 3 diamonds, but no stick.
Too bad. Oh well, I had some pieces of armor, an apple, a block of obsidian, and 2 saplings. No way to craft any weapon or tool. I closed the chest inventory, equipped the pieces of armor via the player inventory, and left the blacksmith house. I looked for some good trades, because they were part of the update. I saw, 23 wheat for 2 emeralds. I harvested the crops that were done and I traded them. Could trade twice. Then I had 4 emeralds. I looked for the blacksmith again, and he traded me an iron sword for 3 emeralds.
I left the village, and looked for more stuff to do.
I saw two weird things. First, there was a portal to the Nether, right here. I didn't go far from the village, by the way. Then, there was a villager who was following me like a puppy. I looked at his trade. WHAT DO I SEE? A Diamond Sword with Fire Aspect I, Sharpness III and Knockback II for only 1 Emerald!? I couldn't let that trade go! I took the sword. I waited for the next trade, opened it. Even more surprising. A Diamond Sword and an Apple for a Diamond Sword with Fire Aspect I, Sharpness IV, Knockback II and Looting III? Even better! I traded the sword I just bought and the Apple I got from the Blacksmith. That's where things start to get even weirder.
The villager died when I closed the Trade Window! And then, behind me, a lot of Zombie Pigmen and Ghasts spawned! Of course I was next to the portal, but so much spawning at the time? I didn't care about the Zombie Pigmen, I could just ignore them, but the Ghasts started hurling fireballs at me! I didn't have time to switch to the Diamond Sword, I took my Iron Sword. I sent the fireballs back on the Ghasts, only one of them got hit. Oh well, I still have a few tries, but... My Iron Sword started becoming red and redder with each fireball.
At some point, the blade diseappeared and I only had the handle. WHAT!? How can this be possible!? I tried punching the fireballs, but each time I punched one, my character got a heart of damage. Hopefully my health had auto-healed since my character broke his hand on that tree earlier.
I switched as fast as I could to my Diamond Sword, remembering the saying "Diamonds are Forever". I tennis smashed a fireball, and that sword diseappeared of my quickbar! Turning back, I noticed it was dropped far away. Turned back again, and I pulled my Obsidian block. It dropped too.
I fleed and took my Diamond Sword, but when I looted it, everything went black. That's where it gets scary. I put my brightness to max, and I could read some signs.
"Does Once in a Lifetime remind you of something?"
"Are you even real?"
"Hello dead."
"Welcome to You."
Welcome to You? That's the worst thing I could ever think of on the scary scale. ZERO OUT OF TEN! A book dropped. I took it. It was entitled "My Dream, My Hopes" and apparently I did write it. Weird, I never crafted any book in here.
Funny is I had written a book with the exact same title in another world. It was filled with the same stuff than I filled the other book in the other world with. In that book, I tried to actually rewrite something I had written on my computer. That thing I had written was filled with actual wishes I have for my future, and I don't want to tell anything about it. I did read it, and I got myself crying.
But what does all that mean? Was that a game Minecraft played with me?
Another book dropped. It was named "Diary", and was written by... The Real Life me. I read it, it contained 188 pages. I thought Minecraft books could only have 50 pages?
Minecraft... That save... It knew everything about me! It knew all my weaknesses, and all my strength! I read my own diary in whole... While crying a little.
On the chat box, "Videth, are you okay?"
Nobody typed that, and Videth is my real name.
Behind me, there was a wall of pumpkins. The ground was dirt. I planted the two saplings because I didn't care anymore about getting that.
I exit my world. I was going to delete it and it's name changed to "Videth". Wha-... I pressed the delete button. "Are you sure you want to delete yourself? You'll die forever." I quickly pressed the cancelling button.
I restarted playing the world. I looked at my inventory and...? Another book popped in my inventory: "Videth". Seriously?
In the inside was a message. "You forgot about yourself, you regret what you did, but it's not your fault, so I'm not chasing you in a forest, but in your favorite game." Chasing in a forest? Reminds me of the SlenderMan, but I didn't know he punished regretful people... Actually I doubt he does, but still...
A felt a hand on my shoulder, in real life. I looked at it, I screamed. It was my sister. She was surprised and said "Wow, I wanted to ask you if I could look at your drawings but I'll ask later...". I looked back at my game and the book said "See what I did there? Don't worry, it has just began."
I closed Minecraft and started thinking. How could that game know all of this about me!? Was it seriously SlenderMan? I didn't try to delete my save file, and I gave a copy of it to my friend. He told me he spawned in the Nether, with a destroyed Nether portal next to it. When he fell in the lava, he was in an NPC village in the desert. That's completely unrelated. Apparently I'm the target of that thing...
What's next? I'm gonna publish what happens next once it happens. I'm gonna try to get some screenshots.
