Looney Tunes - The Death of Daffy Duck
Hello. This thing happened to me a few months ago. I just need it to share this with anybody.
It all started with me in the Starbucks' coffee store, and I was on my laptop, surfing through YouTube to look for some of my favorite Looney Tunes videos.
There is one that will change my outlook on the Looney Tunes world, there was a video that was titled, "Looney Tunes: The Death of Daffy Duck."
If you don't know about the video's backstory, according to a press release, The Death of Daffy Duck was supposed to be the 3000th Warner Bros. cartoon short, but got replaced by 3000th Cartoon Celebration for being too morbid. I clicked the video, and the video played.
The Video
A montage of Warner Bros. logos throughout the years (beginning with the 1925 logo and finishing with the 2011 version of the 1998 logo (with the WarnerMedia byline) played, followed by the 2021 Warner Bros. logo, which at the end the shield is overtaken by a large circle outline. It zooms out to reveal it is part of a large "3000".
It then cuts to the Looney Tunes intro, with the usual opening theme (The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down). Then the title card showed up saying, "The Death of Daffy Duck," with a red bloody-drippy font, while an instrumental version of Pop the Bubbles (from Super Simple Songs) is playing in the background.
The cartoon begins with Daffy Duck and Porky Pig playing a video-game at Porky's house.
"I love this game...." Porky says.
"Me too." Daffy says.
Porky hits a button, and jumps up.
"I JUST BEAT MY HIGHSCORE!" Porky shouts, then he laughs.
"Really?" Daffy said.
"No one's ever beat the boss level!" Porky says.
"Exactly!" Daffy replies.
"They should give me a prize!" Porky smirks.
"Porky, stop showing off!" Daffy says.
"I just beat the high score! I should show off!"
"Porky, it's just a video game."
Porky's face disappears for a second.
"WHAAAAAAAAT!!! THIS IS NOT SOME ORDINARY VIDEO GAME! I GREW UP MASTERING THIS GAME!!!" Porky screams at Daffy.
"Let's just go somewhere." Daffy says, as he was about to exit the door.
"But where?" Porky asks.
"I know! Space Mountain!" Daffy replies.
"S-s-space Mountain?"
"Yeah! Remember that place!? It is that roller-coaster in Tomorrowland." Daffy replies.
"O.... kay. Let's go meet the rest of the gang there."
"Yeah. Good idea."
They both walked out of the door. The camera then transitions to Daffy, Porky, Bonnie, Robert, Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, and Robin in line for Disney Town.
"Remember last time we went here?" Daffy says.
"Of course!" Porky trembles.
"Yeah. Disney Town is the coolest town ever! Woo-Hoo!" Daffy shouts.
Soon, it's their turn to get on the ride. Porky exchanges a worried look.
"This place is sick." he says as he looks at the huge roller coaster.
They get on, and oh man, they're going so fast.
Daffy realizes his belt isn't on tight enough and is sucked out in am matter of seconds.
Then, I was facing a sick visage of Daffy plummeting 50 feet into the air, and lands on the ground with a disgusting crack. I didn't want to look, but I knew I had to.
The camera stays on Daffy's dead, smashed body. Blood was all around him. Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig ran over to him, mortified.
"DAFFY!" they scream.
They dropped to their knees, and hugged Daffy's carcass. They started crying as they stared at Daffy's disemboweled body. A crowd sadly gathered behind Bugs and Porky, and was watching. Someone who claimed he was a doctor ran over to Daffy, and gasped.
He stood up, and told Bugs it's too late. What I saw next made me almost cry. It was Daffy Duck's funeral, and all the Looney Tunes characters were there. They all stared at Daffy's body for a while, before starting to cry.
The camera abruptly cuts to static.
When the camera starts up again, they're no longer at the funeral. They're at the Looney Tunes Monsters' house. Porky, and his friends are sitting there, crying.
The crying sounded realistic, though.
"Porky, I'm so sorry about your friend." Bonnie says as she pats Porky on the back.
Porky didn't respond. He kept on crying.
"This is all my fault! I lost my best friend!"
Porky, depressed, went up to the kitchen. He sat on the side of the table for a heck of a long time. He didn't even cry, it was as still as a picture. Silent as ever.
Then, I thought I heard the sound of crying. But it wasn't Porky. His mouth wasn't moving, and the crying was too faint to be Porky's. I then heard whispers. I could sort of tell what they were saying, it was like this:
"He's so sad."
"I know."
"Well, we can't just leave him sitting there."
"You're right."
"Let's surprise him."
Then, the whispers stop. Suddenly, the whole screen cuts to black while violent screaming could be heard. The camera then cut to Bugs, Porky, Elmer Fudd, Bonnie, Robert, and Robin revisiting Daffy Duck's grave.
There, lying in front of the tombstone lay Daffy, looking just like he did when he fell out of the roller coaster. Porky walked up to Daffy, while everyone else held hands.
"Daffy..." Porky said. "I'll never see you again, and that is why I'm doing this. That's all, folks."
Porky then dropped dead next to Daffy's carcass. Bugs, Elmer, Bonnie, Robert, and Robin started crying. The camera stayed on Daffy and Porky's dead bodies lying together.
Then the screen cut to the Looney Tunes bullseye with a message reading "Thank you for 3000 Looney Tunes shorts." in the center, and the usual "A WARNER BROS. CARTOON" text at the bottom.
Conclusion
As far as I know, no one else has seen the video, but it got deleted for no reason. Until it was accidentally shown as part of The Noveltoons Show with new opening titles (inspired by the KikoRiki title sequence).
But if you ever find a copy of the video titled, "Looney Tunes: The Death of Daffy Duck", I want you to never ever view it.
But if it's there, this means this has to be huge.
