Curious George: George's Insanity
A few days ago, I ordered a package of Curious George DVDs for my little brother. And today, they finally arrived in the mail. However, the DVD cover was plain black. I thought to myself, "Maybe it's the wrong one." I put in the DVD and pressed play anyways. There was a little bit of fuzzy static but not much. I saw an advertisement for the show Dragontales, and I said, "Hey, I remember seeing that show as a kid." Then, there was a message saying, "Coming up next...Curious George! On PBS Kids!" The intro seemed normal, except it stuttered a little bit and the audio was glitched.
The title card said 'George's Insanity.' The episode started with George sitting on his bed looking down at the floor. There was no music, but it had an eerie tone to it. He sighed and the narrator said,"George is having a really upsetting day. Right now, he's contemplating why he even exists," in a monotone voice. What came next surprised me. He said, in perfect english, "What does my life mean anymore? I'm just a monkey stolen from Africa. I can't seem to figure it out..." Then, it cut to a scene with the Man in the Yellow hat in the hospital. A doctor walked in with a worried expression.
He said, "Ted, I'm sorry to inform you, but the test for cancer came out positive." Ted looked surprised yet sad. He said, "Oh...What about my monkey? Does he have to leave?" The doctor looked straight at him, while a tear ran down his cheek. "I'm afraid so...I'm sorry," he said in a sad, realistic voice. There was a flash of static, and it cut back to George. Now, he was in the kitchen next to the fridge. Just then, Ted walked in the door. George hopped up excitedly, seeming to chatter like a normal monkey. Ted said to George, "George...I'm sorry, but you have to go." George was now crying, but his tears were red. Blood red, I should point out. "You're gonna have to go to the shelter buddy. I-I'm sorry, but you can't stay." He picked up a kennel and led George into it with a banana. He closed and locked it, picked it back up, and walked out the door.
Then, it cut to the shelter. A woman was holding George's kennel and walking down the long hallway with other exotic animals in cages. She opened up a cage and the kennel, and put George inside. Then, she locked the cage. George said in a human voice, "Why did the doctor make Tim send me here? This is hell. I'm going to die here..." Then, a timecard showed saying 'Three years later...' George was huddled in a corner, with blood all over the ground. There were small scars on his arms, meaning he inflicted self-harm. George said, "What's the point. I haven't died yet. I better just die now, shouldn't I?" He picked up a knife in the room, which wasn't shown before. His last words were, "Hail Satan." He then stabbed himself twice in the chest, killing himself.
Then the screen went black. Then, a message showed up on screen saying, "If you're watching this, then someday, you might see George in your sleep. But that's only a legend." Then the episode was actually over. But for a brief second, there was a black screen with two glowing red eyes. I took out the DVD, and threw it into the fireplace. A hellish, high-pitched scream came out. "Odd...," I said. I wrote a letter to PBS Kids about the episode. A few months later, I got a response.
Dear Ms. XXXXX,
Thank you for mailing us about the experience. We have done research, yet we cannot trace back to the source. We over at PBS have been working hard. We'll mail you back when we find out.
Thank you,
Your friends at PBS.
I never got a response. Now I live in paranoia and fear. But one day, I heard something. A hellish, high-pitched scream.
The end?
