Amazon Rush
Amazon Rush was a 1994 Arcade Game developed by a now-defunct video game development company. The game revolved around the player driving a small jeep in the jungle while avoiding several oncoming animals which, if collided into, would result in the jeep crashing and causing a game-over. There was also a second platformer sequence which involved the player exploring the jungle in attempt to find the level's "Idol", normally situated in a Temple at the end of each level. Not much is known about the game, as only about 20 Amazon Rush arcade cabinets were sold in America, though many players have criticized the game for the poor graphics and choppy controls. Despite these flaws, I have looked for an Amazon Rush cabinet and have found one in a local arcade, the manager did not know what it was actually worth, and sold it to me for a rather cheap price. From here on, my curiosity took over, and I delved into the game.

Once the cabinet was arranged, I inserted the first coin into the game and pressed the first button, the "Adventurer" was standing in the middle of the screen and ran across to the side, with a somewhat choppy voice-sample saying "Lets Go!" as he went across. From here on, I was put straight into the first jeep sequence. The jeep sequence was rather easy and I had no trouble in dodging the oncoming tigers. The platforming-area was also generally very easy, with the only threats being several hedgehogs and the occasional bottomless pit. Though I was annoyed at how choppy the Adventurer's jumping was, that the Whip which was provided could not hit the hedgehogs and that occasionally the hedgehogs would sometimes glitch and have a different, glitchy sprite. Eventually, the Idol Room was in reach, and as I entered the room, a long, abnormal sound played for no reason, I brushed this off and I proceeded through the hallway. Eventually, I reached the Idol and collected it, and what followed was a Voice-Sample which said "You did it!" and I was taken straight to the password screen, which displayed "EOUD38 ODWE92"

I've recieved rather helpful information from a fellow player of Amazon Rush. After posting a thread regarding Amazon Rush, I got a particularly good reply. One of the users claimed that there was indeed a time-limit that players could not track and if time ran out, a black shadow would be cast over the entire screen and it would be an instant Game-Over, no matter if you had lives or not. Curious, I tested this and yes, the shadow casted over and I lost all three of the default lives.
I went on to play again, I typed in the password I recieved two days ago and begun at the Jeep sequence. The jeep was actually somewhat more challenging this time around, and I did have some trouble manouvering the jeep against several of the oncoming Rhinos charging forth. The platforming stage also escalated in difficulty, with a new "Boar" enemy (Which would charge at you if it faced you) appearing now an then during the level, and several falling-rock sections. Knowing that the time-limit did exist, I went forth quickly to the idol temple. The same glitchy sound played as I entered, and the temple was somewhat different this time, there was somewhat more moss around the bricks and one, single chained skeleton, I didn't know what this actually meant and moved on to collect the idol. When I had collected it, I was taken to the password screen where it displayed "RMRU48 SMEO" before displaying a glitched pair of bricks. The game is now beggining to confuse me.
