Abandoned by Discord
If you Discord Server hunt, than you may have come across a "Phantom" Server. These servers can be named anything, and at one point could've been an actual server. However, when an invite is sent in chats, they say they are valid and you can join, but when actually clicking and brought to the window to accept the invite, you'll be met with "This invite is invalid or has expired." That's all that most people know about them, some sort of odd bugs in Discord.
However, a fellow Discord user that goes by the name "Unintentionally Quiet" posted on the Discord Reddit page how to enter these "Phantom" Servers. He stated that one method of entering at least some of these servers was to make a new account, and while that account remains under an hour old, you may be able to enter some of these servers. There was nothing more past that, he never stated what was inside these servers, nor did he state any specific examples, but I figured it was worth a try.
I first tried to find a Phantom Server before making my account, so that when I did it'd be fresh. I found three, They were:
- Hentai Hell
- Moon Land 5.5: Staff Only
- "LoneMouse" Discord Server
I created my new account under the name "NekoNekoNeko1525" and tried Hentai Hell. Denied access. I tried Moon Land 5.5: Staff Only. Denied again. Finally, I tried "LoneMouse" Discord Server. It gave me the option to join. So I did.
When I joined, the server seemed to be really active. There was around 20 members, and they all were actively talking in every channel. They all had a yellow default icon, which I assumed because this server was buggy. Except for one, a user by the name "Shizuka," which had a white drawn kitten as his icon. Remember how I said it was active? They were, sending messages yes, but there were hundreds, maybe thousands even, sent in under a single minute, all from maybe a single user in every channel, and they just seemed to be gibberish. Not exactly keyboard bashing, but as if a coded message, they were evenly spaced and had punctuation where punctuation should be. But as soon as the automatic message stating "Watch out, NekoNekoNeko1525 joined the server" appeared, it all just stopped, every message, on every channel.
I was pretty confused at this point, my only assumption was this whole server was hacked or corrupted, and maybe that's why it was blocked to join it. I typed in a simple "Hello" and sent it. But as soon as I did, all the members started moving from the "Online" section, to the "Offline" section off to the side. Except for one. The user named Shizuka. "Hello" he typed back. "Get in the voice channel" he said. So I did. He was silent, and so was I. I sat there for about a minute or two, in absolute silence. He wasn't saying or typing anything. I connected my mic in, and asked "What's going on...?" A few seconds went by, and then he sent a .png picture into the chat. It was the kitten that was his icon, except he seemed more anthropomorphic, and it's colors seemed... inverted from his icon, and it wore simple purple shorts.
I noticed his mic unmute in the voice channel. White noise played loudly through his mic, until it softened, so it could only barely be heard. A soft, perverted like voice spoke into the voice channel and said "Hey... wanna see my head come off...?" I was puzzled and asked "What?" then I saw it. The .png image of the cat's arms move up towards its head, and begin pulling at it's head. It pulled and pulled, until it came off with a jolt, and a multicolored ooze seeped from the bottom of it's head, and its neck. I was freaked out for sure, and then I got a Direct Message from one of the users in the chat by the name of "Chii." He first sent me "Fuwa ni suterareta," which was then followed by "Kami ni suterareta." My computer froze for a second, before I got an error message stating "System32 not found" and my computer shut off.
To this day, I'm not exactly sure what happened in that server, or if it even happened at all. Lately these phantom servers have been disappearing, but a few still remain if you search hard enough. However, you have been warned.
